From staff reports
Two men robbed the 7-Eleven convenience store at 6350 W. 135th St. in Palos Heights late Monday afternoon.
Deputy Police Chief Bill Czajkowski said two men, who did not display weapons or indicate they were armed, got away with an undetermined amount of cash in the robbery that took place about 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Czajkowski said that according to witnesses, the men entered the store and appeared to loiter around the cash register area.
When the cashier opened the register for another customer, one of the men went behind the counter, pushed the cashier aside, and “grabbed a handful of cash.”
The two men then fled in an unidentified vehicle, heading north on Ridgeland Avenue.
The cashier was not injured. An undetermined amount of money was taken
Czajkowski said Tuesday that police were reviewing surveillance videos, but said only vague descriptions of the men were available.
Police believe a woman who was seen speaking to the two men just prior to the robbery knows who they are and is being sought.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Palos Heights Police Department at 708-448-5060.
