Three 18-year-olds face felony charges after undercover Orland Park police officers caught them stealing from vehicles in the 15300 block of Treetop Drive at 8:49 p.m. Aug. 12, police said.
Plainclothes officers responding to a report of a possible car burglary on that block noticed three men pulling on car door handles in a parking lot, according to a police statement. Shortly after starting surveillance, the police reported seeing all three men enter an unlocked vehicle and remove items from inside. When the officers approached and identified themselves as police, the three fled on foot.
All three suspects were taken into custody following a short foot pursuit. They were identified as Kamari Harmon, of Country Club Hills; Albert Taylor of Springfield, and Travon Phillips of Hazel Crest. All three were charged with burglary to a motor vehicle, a felony, as well as criminal trespassing to a vehicle and resisting or obstructing a peace officer, both misdemeanors.
Court information was not available.
