Kevin G. Stone, 50, of Tinley Park, was charged with disorderly conduct on Dec. 20 at 10:23 a.m. after he banged on the front door and windows of a home in the 9300 block of 141st Place, police said. Stone upset a woman and her 1-year-old son when he rang the doorbell, banged on their door and shouted for her to open it, police said. Instead, she called 911, according to the police report. Stone has a court date of Feb. 13 at the 5th Municipal District Cook County Courthouse in Bridgeview.
In other Orland Park police news, Kolin F. Kolinda, 22, of Frankfort, was arrested at 4:41 p.m. Dec. 22 and charged with retail theft after he took merchandise with a retail value of $52 from a store in the Orland Square shopping center, police said. Kolinda allegedly hid two pairs of earrings in a bag he carried into the store and a pair in his pocket. He then purchased other earrings, but he was arrested when he tried to leave the store with the three hidden pairs, police said. Hours later, Kolinda was arrested again when he returned to the store and tried to return the earrings he purchased, according to the police report. He created a disturbance by yelling and swearing at store and mall employees and violated a trespass warning issued earlier by mall security, police said. Kolinda has a court date of Jan. 23 in Bridgeview for the retail theft charge and a Jan. 25 court date on charges of disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing.
Leah M. Hanlon, 20, of Orland Park, was charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol at a drinking party at a home in the 10100 block of 151st Street, police said. Four other minors, Krystin A. Caddigan, 19, of Orland Park, Reilly K. Bennett, 18, and Jeremy R. Ruzas, 20, both of Tinley Park, and John T. Jacobsen, 20, of Homer Glen, each received municipal violation citations for underage consumption of alcohol, police said. The four have a hearing date of Feb. 12 at the Civic Center in Orland Park. Hanlon was charged with a misdemeanor because she had two prior underage drinking citations, police said. She has a court date of Feb. 20 in Bridgeview.
Dionte D. Harmon, 18, of Orland Hills, was arrested at 6:33 p.m. Dec. 23 and charged with retail theft after he took bottles of liquor with a retail value of $203 from a store in the 9300 block of 159th Street, police said. A witness said Harmon and another man quickly drove off after taking a shopping cart full of liquor, police said. Police said they found the men parked in front of the residence of the vehicle’s registered owner. One of the men escaped on foot, according to the police report. Officers found an HKS Revolver Speedloader containing six hollow-point rounds in Harmon’s inner jacket pocket, police said. After being processed for the retail theft, he was turned over to Orland Hills police because his apprehension and the discovery of the speedloader happened there, police said. No court information was provided in the arrest report.
Waheeb R. Yassin, 23, of Orland Park, was arrested at 10:25 p.m. Dec. 28 and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was stopped in the 14200 block of La Grange road for an equipment violation, police said. Police found a blunt in the vehicle’s center console, a black cigar wrapper that contained cannabis residue, more marijuana-6 grams total-and a pipe in the trunk, according to the police report. Yassin also received a warning for driving with only one working taillight, police said. He has a court date of Jan. 25 in Bridgeview.
Peter L. Arellano, 24, of Orland Park, was arrested at 10:04 p.m. Dec. 27 and charged with theft of labor or services after he left a restaurant in the 300 block of Orland Square Drive without paying his tab, police said. A restaurant employee told police Arellano flashed a $100 bill before leaving without paying, but when confronted later he told him he didn’t have the money to pay the $95.92 bill he and another patron ran up. As Arellano ran through the mall parking lot, a restaurant manager watched him and kept officers abreast of his whereabouts, police said. Police later learned Arellano had been warned last year not to return to any Orland Square property because of an incident that occurred there in November, according to the police report. He was held for a bond hearing on Dec. 28. No other court information was provided in the arrest report.
